Bengal government prepares for cyclonic storm Mocha; control rooms to be opened in all districts

West Bengal is preparing for a possible cyclonic storm, named Mocha, which is predicted to hit the state by May 10.

The state government has initiated preparations to counter the storm, and an important meeting was held on Tuesday chaired by the State Chief Secretary HK Dwivedi.

Officers from various departments, as well as officers from DVC and NDRF, were present at the meeting. Control rooms are being set up in all districts, and DVC has been instructed to provide information about where and how much water they are releasing before doing so.

Although it is not yet confirmed whether the cyclonic storm will hit the state, the state government has already started its preparations based on past experiences of annual storms affecting the region.
